Where We Work
Small Voices Big Dreams 2014
In 2014, children in Paraguay were surveyed to hear their voices about Child Protection issues in their country. The survey, titled “Small Voices, Big Dreams” was released on November 20th, and included the responses of over 6,000 children from over 40 countries. The results showed that one in three children, globally, feel that their rights to protection were not being upheld. Children from CCFC’s programs in Paraguay were featured in a video which was released globally.
Featured Partner Project
CCFC advises Paraguayan Government on UN Draft Zero for post-2015 Millennium Development Goals
In Paraguay, CCFC continues to make significant progress in advocating at national and local government levels for the inclusion of violence against children on the post-2015 Development Agenda. Advocacy activities have been jointly executed with ChildFund Alliance and the Paraguayan government. The minister of Childhood and Adolescence, Carlos Zarate Fleitas, asked CCFC for input on the government’s Millennium Development Goals proposal submission. The list of 17 development goals includes an end to the abuse, exploitation and violence against children by 2030.
Our Work, in Action
Dr. J. Calvitt Clarke and Dr. Verent Mills start work with Chinese war orphans.
Dr. Clarke creates China's Children Fund (CCF).
CCF expands its work from Asia into the Middle East after WWII. Renames itself "Christian Children's Fund".
CCF has global reach, and Canadian support leads to the creation of Christian Children's Fund of Canada.
Christian Children’s Fund of Canada has worked in Paraguay since 1995. We work in partnership with local non-governmental organizations in child-centered community development programs, seeking to improve life for children, their families and communities through activities in education, health and nutrition, and to strengthen community organizations.
