Jorge Méndez Rheineck

Jorge Méndez Rheineck has been the Country Director of Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC) Paraguay since 2012. In his long career, he has held technical positions at international banks such as Chase Manhattan Bank, the Algemene Bank Nederland and Banco do Estado de Sao Paulo. In the public sector, he held technical and management positions in the financial, educational and social sectors, specifically the Central Bank of Paraguay, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Social Action of the Presidency of the Republic.

Jorge has also held advisory and coordination positions in the United Nations Development Programme. He was the creator of the UNDP Human Development Office in Paraguay and research coordinator for the Human Development Reports. The last 15 years he has dedicated himself to the field of inclusive development and poverty reduction, from social management to the implementation of programs with international financing, strategic planning and research for development.

Jorge has basic training in accounting and business administration, and a degree in Philosophy from the National University of Asuncion, a specialization in developing thesis in the University, an MA in Education from the Catholic University Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University in the US. He is a member of the Edward S. Mason Fellow Program at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
